One of my biggest activities would have to be scrambling in the Rocky Mountains. Scrambling is a non-technical ascent of a mountain. That means that for most scrambles no rock climbing gear is necessary, although there are some cliffs and boulders that need to be climbed but they don’t rise high enough to pose a serious danger should one fall.
I recommend to pick up the book by Allan Kane titled “Scrambling in the Canadian Rockies” if you are looking for more scrambling routes.. It is a very good guide book to pack in your back pack in the event you lose your way or just need to verify what turn to take.
Take a look through some of my scrambles that I have completed and written a review or guide on. Please note that these articles are not meant as a complete guide, but rather to be used in addition to proper planning, route guide books, and maps. I take no responsibility for the accuracy of these articles and the reader should note that scrambling is an inherently dangerous sport and should be conducted with care and proper equipment.
Please read the Scrambling Disclaimer.
